Verify your Home Builder

To verify a home builder's quality, read reviews, and request references from past customers.

1. Licensing:

  • The Georgia Secretary of State's website allows you to verify a contractor's license.
  • Ensure the builder is licensed for the type of work they're performing.

2. Reputation and Reviews:

  • Check the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for complaints against the builder.
  • Look for online reviews and testimonials from past clients.
  • Contact local trade organizations like the Home Builders Association of Georgia for their opinions on the builder's reputation.
  • Search the Great Atlanta Home Builders Association website to see the award-winning builders at all price points.

3. References:

  • Request references from past clients to get their firsthand experiences.
  • Consider visiting homes the builder has previously constructed to get a feel for their quality and craftsmanship.

4. Other Considerations:

  • Inquire about the builder's experience and years in the industry.
  • Discuss their approach to the building process, their communication style, and their ability to manage the project effectively.
  • Consider meeting with multiple builders and comparing their proposals and project plans.
